Token
A type of digital asset that can be allocated to an account.
In the context of a distributed ledger a token is an indication of owership. These tokens are typically created via a token contract They come in many forms. Some can be exchanged, while others cannot. Some have a fixed supply, whereas others have a variable supply. They can also be interchangeable (aka fungible) or unique like Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).
Tokenomics
The branch of economic theory that focuses on the unique characteristics of token rulesets and incentives. Tokenomics are most typically discussed when setting and assessing the incentives used to convince users to maintain network validators.
